Promotion activities in Germany

As part of the targeted information and promotion activities of the EUFruitBasket program in Germany, the tasting days activity was carried out from 28/11 to 6/12 (excluding Sundays) at selected retail locations in the Munich area. The activity was designed to support the program’s main objective: increasing the consumption of fresh European fruit by informing consumers about balanced, healthy dietary habits and the benefits of making fruit part of everyday life. During the tasting days, consumers received informational materials and had the opportunity to taste European kiwifruit and kaki (persimmon), while also being informed about the campaign’s key messages in Germany, linked to the well-known “5 am Tag” recommendation (five portions of fruit and vegetables per day). The activity took place in REWE and Nahkauf stores in Munich and the wider area (indicatively: Neuried, Aschheim, Poing, Fürstenfeldbruck, Diedorf, Unterföhring), serving as a direct and effective point of contact with consumers. In this way, EUFruitBasket practically reinforces its message: European fruit combines quality, freshness and reliability, and can be an everyday choice as part of a balanced diet.

Fruit Attraction 2025 in Madrid

EUFruitBasket marked a strong presence at Fruit Attraction 2025 in Madrid (IFEMA), welcoming international professionals to Pavilion 3 – Stand 3C14 from 30 September to 2 October 2025. Throughout the exhibition, the booth served as a meeting point for market players interested in high quality European fruit, featuring Greek peaches, nectarines and kiwifruit alongside Spanish kaki (persimmon). Discussions focused on market trends, sourcing needs and the growing demand for products that combine consistent quality, freshness and trust. Fruit Attraction provided strong visibility for the campaign and a valuable opportunity to strengthen contacts with buyers, importers, distributors and retailers, while reinforcing the EUFruitBasket message: European fruit production stands for high standards and reliability. The European campaign EUFRUITBASKET, co-funded by the European Union, reminds everyone that adding fresh fruits to the daily lunchbox is a simple way to bring energy, balance, and joy to every day. From juicy peaches and nectarines to colorful kaki fruits and refreshing kiwis, European fruits offer a natural, seasonal choice for children and adults alike. Easy to pack, delicious to eat, and enjoyed by all ages, fruits fit perfectly into school breaks, office snacks, and moments on the go. Did you know?Health authorities across Europe recommend at least five portions of fruit and vegetables every day. Fresh fruits are an easy and tasty way to meet this goal, while introducing variety and color to daily meals.  

Highlights of Press Event for EuFruitBasket in Berlin 2025

On Thursday, February 6, 2025, a successful press event was held at Melia Berlin as part of the EuFruitBasket campaign. The event was honored by the presence of Mr. Yannis Maroutsos, First Secretary for Economic and Commercial Affairs at the Embassy of Greece in Berlin, among distinguished speakers: Mr. Efthymios Balanis, representative of ASEPOP Velventou, Mr. Lluis Perez, representative of AEKAKI and Professor Spyridon Mamalis, expert in Marketing. The event highlighted the superior quality and sustainability of European peaches, nectarines, and persimmons, emphasizing their nutritional benefits and cultivation methods that meet the highest european quality standards. The speakers discussed market trends, export opportunities, and the role of European fruit in international trade. Journalists, industry professionals, and stakeholders engaged in fruit tastings and networking, reinforcing EuFruitBasket’s commitment to promoting European fruit excellence. ASEPOP Velventou and the Spanish Association of Kaki, under the distinctive title “EuFruitBasket”“EuFruitBasket”, successfully participated in Fruit Logistica 2025, held on February 5-7 in Berlin Hall 8.2 – Stand number B31. As one of the most important global trade fairs for the fresh fruit and vegetable industry, Fruit Logistica provided the perfect platform to showcase the premium quality European fruits promoted through the EuFruitBasket campaign. Visitors had the opportunity to explore the unique characteristics of Greek peaches, nectarines and kiwis from ASEPOP Velventou and Spanish kaki fruit from the Association of Kaki. The EuFruitBasket booth attracted importers, distributors, and retailers, fostering new business relationships and reinforcing the reputation of European fruit excellence in international markets.
